STEP 1 jason made art
He started with four giant sheets of archival-quality art board, then performed his patented, trademarked, and closely-guarded secret success art method on them. The result was four huge, sexy pieces of art—two sheets of white on white, two sheets of white on black. |

STEP 2 we chopped it up
It would be hard to sell four 30"x40" sketchbooks, so we visited an amazing gallery/studio in town called Chop Chop to use their archaic-and-dangerous-looking-but-ultimately-safe-and-efficient cutting machine. We got about 70 BORED-size covers out of the lot, which we pared down to 50 by weeding out the imperfect specimens.
The result? Two editions of 25 absolutely unique sketchbook covers. |

STEP 3 we assembled the books
The sketchbook assembly process in 4 easy steps:
1) CUT. We had a lot of pages.
2) SORT. 35 blank pages, 1 divider page, and 40 lined pages each!
3) PUNCH. Each book has 25 binding holes. Fact!
4) BIND. In this order: front cover, blank pages, divider page, lined pages, back cover. Clamp the wire binding through the holes, trim the excess, and you've got one crisp sketchbook. |

STEP 4 jason made them official
Each book has an identification tag on the inside-front cover that Mr. Leimgruber numbered by hand to show its place in the edition of 25. This is a limited edition—so, when they're gone, we promise, they're actually gone (not that we could ever reproduce it anyway).
For the finishing touch, Jason doubled each sketchbook's QVC value by autographing each inside-front cover. So, you get not only a sketchbook but also the authentication of an amazing artist. You can't fake that. |
