"Art is stupid."

Let's assume they're right, for fun. Craft, composition, concept, integrity, sincerity, expression—the tenets of higher human creativity—all stupid. Can art shun these tenets and still have meaning? Art collective 2 Size Shirts believes that and much more.

Try not to laugh, and ask yourself, What if leaving all that out made for more true meaning than all the [stupid] art in the Louvre and the MoMA combined?

The paradox, when the art is no longer intended to communicate, is that this theoretical supermeaning… just isn't meant for us. The work becomes so extremely exclusive that only the creators can ever know its meaning. An inside joke as art? That just can't be.

It's intriguing. It's irreverent. It's cynical. It's possible.

To look at a 2 Size Shirt is to hear a viscerally irritating voice asking, "Do you get it?" If we answer yes, we're probably lying. We might laugh at it, or analyze it, or dismiss it… but if this really is art… We do not get it.
